An emphatic 5-1 Irish Trophy victory over last season’s quarter-finalists Catholic Institute kick-started UCC’s season in style at the Mardyke on Saturday, while Belvedere’s ladies went down 2-0 to TRL in the only two top-level games to survive the weather.
Catholic Institute will reprise their recent rivalry with UCC on a novel stage at the Mardyke tomorrow (3pm), as the sides lock horns in the first round of the Irish Hockey Trophy.
