Róisín Upton returned from the fractured foot injury that has blighted her season to captain a youthful Crescent side who are seeking a three-in-a-row, as the game finally went ahead after false starts and differences of opinion over the timing of the fixture. In a physical encounter, Ursulines had two goals disallowed due to frees given against them in the build-up, while a last-ditch short corner on the hooter failed to yield dividends for the Tipp school. Crescent also forced a number of shorts but couldn’t make a breakthrough, with the net result that the sides will have to meet again in Limerick on February 22, with Bandon Grammar awaiting the winners in the final on February 29.
