Dublin native Sinead Loughran played through a broken hand with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels but, despite her efforts, her side fell just short of silverware both in the ACC and NCAA championships. Following the former setback, she reflected:

Any chance you could umpire? One of innovations this year from the Leinster Hockey Umpires Association has been tweets detailing the updated appointments. Sometimes, though, requests for extra appointments have clashed with prior arrangements!

Phelie Maguire and Andy McConnell’s Hurley have enjoyed a decent first half of the season since promotion to the Dutch Hoofdklasse, sitting eighth of the 12 sides in the division. The former played a key role in a superb team goal against Den Bosch that was nominated for the October Goal of the Month
