Ulster’s domination of age-grade girls hockey shows no signs of abating, as both their U18 and U16 sides claimed their third interprovincial titles in a row with 100% records at Milltown in Dublin.

Pembroke Wanderers’ place in the last 16 of the EuroHockey League is almost secure, after a stunning late salvo from Brandon Panther secured a 4-3 win over Ukrainian champions Olimpia Kolos Sekvoia in Eindhoven this morning.
Cork sides fall at first hurdle
Jason Lynch chose the perfect occasion to make a point to Irish coach Paul Revington, as he inspired Lisnagarvey to a 3-1 IHL success over Cork C of I at Garryduff, while three goals in two minutes did for Cork Harlequins in a 5-2 defeat at Pembroke.
UCC alumni have last laugh
UCC’s alumni came back to haunt them as Hermes won 3-0 at Belfield on weekend one of the women’s IHL, while Belfast was a bridge too far for Catholic Institute as they lost 5-2 to Pegasus. In the other pool, Railway Union tormented Cork Harlequins once more with a 7-2 rout at Park Avenue.
C of I rally to see off students
Two fine reverse-stick strikes from Andrew Daunt (above) helped Cork C of I come from behind to see off UCC 7-3 in the weekend’s top men’s encounter, while Bandon and Quins recorded easy away victories. In the women’s league, two seven-goal wins for Institute puts daylight between them and nearest challengers UCC and Quins, while Bandon chalked up their first win of the campaign.
