While there is a chance Glenanne and Cookstown are holding their fire until after this Sunday’s Irish Senior Cup final, the Vaughan Erasmus eligibility row appears to have been put to bed – for now.
The IHA yesterday revealed that following a meeting between Mossley HC and IHA staff, the Ulster club has decided not to take their query – outlined on Southern Fried yesterday – any further.
The statement read: “Further to meeting with the chief executive of the IHA and competitions chair, Mossley HC will not be looking to take their query in to their match versus Pembroke in the Irish Senior Cup any further.
“The participation of an ineligible player by Pembroke, against them, was a result of genuine and unintentional errors by Pembroke and the IHA.
“Mossley HC has acted entirely honourably in this matter, seeking only clarity on the issue, and has at no time sought for penalties or action against Pembroke.”
