Munster players are dotted throughout three Irish Masters teams who are in action at the Home Nations in Wakefield, England this weekend. Cork Harlequins’ Stuart Egner flies the flag for the O55s while Ashton’s Mark Stockil – scorer of two hat-tricks at the interpros in April –  plus C of I duo Neil Welch and Brian Hayden, and Dara Crowe of Catholic Institute will look to make an impression with the O45s. DSC_1138 With the O40s, UCC keeper Kieran Healy is among a few still playing top-division hockey – UCD’s Paul Fitzpatrick is another – and he’s joined on that panel by Institute’s John Geary and C of I’s Peter Creighton, who also bagged a couple of interpro goals. It is part of the ongoing preparations to the European Open which will be held in Lisnagarvey from August 13-17 with will see at least seven tournaments being played out across the men’s and women’s sections.
